Answer 1

Answer:

The line most remembered; as written by Peter Robinson, and explained in his book, "How Ronald Reagan Changed my Life", is "Mr. Gorbachev, Tear Down This Wall".  In reference to the Berlin wall, which was built to separate east Berlin from west Berlin.

It was part of the speech, which was added because of the Mr. Robinson's advanced visit to Berlin and conversations he had with locals there.  It was opposed by the top advisers to the president as they thought it too strong a wording for the United Stated president to challenge the Soviet leader.  But, there had been protect marches opposing the wall, and Reagan was popular throughout the world.  He was an ex-actor and could deliver this message without making a US threat to Mr. Gorbachev.  The soviets knew that their actions in building this wall were seen as an act of aggression.  And there were continuing protest to remove it.  In the end, this line, and the non-threatening way it was delivered allowed the Berlin Wall to be removed and provided a more open dialogue between the United States and the Soviet Union.

the direct impact of his speech was tthe begining of transformation if the soviet union and opening of the soviet union into  democratic independent countries. It was also the begining of the end of the cold war. Regan's popularity raised to the highest rate, and alowed him to be reelected.

A chalkboard has a perimeter of 18 ft and is 6 ft long. Find the height of the chalkboard.

Answers

Answer:

The height of the rectangle is 3.

Explanation:

A rectangle has two sides that each measure 6 so the length of both sides would be 12.

The perimeter is 18 so you would subtract 18-12 to get 6.

Because you are missing the height (and there are two other sides of the rectangle) you would divide 6 by 2 to get 3.

So the height is 3.

that the United States is much more powerful than the Soviet Union

that the people of Eastern Europe will pressure Gorbachev to act

that Gorbachev agrees that Communism must end all over the world

that the Soviet Union desires and is moving in the direction of reform

D. that the Soviet Union desires and is moving in the direction of reform

A premise is a statement where conclusions are gotten from with regards to logical arguments.

President Ronald Reagan charged Gorbachev in his speech which he made in West Berlin in 1987 to tear down the walls. The walls he was referring to was the one which was erected in 1961 by East Germany in collaboration with Russia to prevent people from leaving to the West.

He made the premise that the Soviet Union will show commitment in making reforms and embracing good relations with the West

JUNE and SYLVIO speak to MR. TELLER in the driveway of their farmhouse. It is raining hard, and they all carry umbrellas. A dog sits on the steps of the house.

JUNE: We didn’t think you’d be coming back for the puppy.

MR. TELLER: I said I would when I dropped the puppy off.

SYLVIO: Yes, but that was months ago. We thought you’d be back for the puppy in a couple days. Now she’s a full-grown dog. We have raised her ourselves, we built her her own doghouse, and we love her.

MR. TELLER: But she’s my dog. I only dropped her off at your house for safekeeping since I had to go out of town on business. Now I’m back and I want my dog back.

SYLVIO: I don’t know, Mr. Teller. We love Lucy like our own. We want to keep her.

What is the conflict of the play?
It’s raining at June and Sylvio’s farmhouse.
Mr. Teller is the owner of Lucy, the puppy.
Mr. Teller wants his dog, Lucy, back.

The image of the dead bird wrapped in a silk cloth strengthen the feminist theme that women often suffer abuses within a male-dominated society?

A. The bird symbolizes loneliness, which Mrs. Wright endured throughout her marriage to Mr. Wright.

According to the part two of Trifles, the story talks about John Hossack who  was murdered in his home and the prime suspect was his wife Minnie.

However, based on the feminist theme, the bird which plays a vital role in the story shows that Mrs Wright was lonely throughout her marriage to her husband.

This supports the idea that Mrs Wright suffered abuse at the hands of her husband which in some way justifies the murder of her husband.

Therefore, the correct answer is option A.

My Last Roller Skating Party

In an effort to relive the good old days of youth, my friend Tim decided to throw himself a 1980s-themed party at a roller skating rink. All my college friends were going, and we decided to dress for the theme, complete with headbands, leg warmers, blue eyeshadow, and teased hair. The night of the party, everyone looked great and we all had a good time.

Then I decided to show off. About ten minutes before the party ended, I started trying moves I learned long ago when I dreamed of being an Olympic figure skater. I actually had never been good enough on the ice to get anywhere near the Olympics, but I loved skating and was pretty decent at one point. There I was at the party, spinning, twirling, and skating backward. Then I decided to bring my friend Heidi in on the fun, so I grabbed her hands and pulled her along with me as I skated backward. I was smart enough to be looking behind me to make sure I wouldn’t bump into anyone, but I was not smart enough to pay attention to my balance, which I lost.

I fell down onto the newly buffed rink floor. Before I knew what was happening, Heidi tripped and fell on top of me, and I heard a crack. I remember feeling the wind get knocked out of me, and then a rush of faces looking down asking if I was okay. My friend Kathleen, who was studying to be a nurse, asked questions to make sure I wasn’t seriously injured, and another friend called an ambulance. Since I was not yet feeling any pain, the sheer embarrassment of the moment was my main focus.

In the hospital I learned that I had broken a rib and fractured my collarbone. Kathleen had come with and assured me that I was lucky: it could have been much worse. Looking back, I have to laugh at the reaction we got from the hospital staff. Every time a new doctor or nurse walked into my room, we felt the need to explain our getups. The explanation was generally met with blank stares from people who had much more pressing concerns than what the girl in Room 3 was wearing.

I went home with strict instructions to move as little as possible for the next few weeks. Lucky for me, I was on summer break so I didn’t have to worry about school. I’d been planning to stay in my off-campus apartment and work that summer. Instead, I took a leave of absence from my job, formed a stack of books I’d been meaning to read for ages, and settled in for what would surely be some of the most boring weeks of my life. The next day, Heidi called and apologized profusely for falling on me. I thanked her but pointed out that it had been my fault that I ended up getting hurt.

“Even so, we all feel terrible that you ended up in the hospital at the end of a great party,” Heidi said. “Listen, I called a bunch of people who were there and asked if they wanted to volunteer for a meal drop-off schedule. I have your breakfast, lunch, and dinner covered for the next three weeks.” I needed a moment to process what Heidi was telling me. Next to my stack of books was a stack of menus from which I’d planned to order all of my food for the next few weeks. The thought of an all-fast food diet had made me a little nauseous, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to cook. Now my friends were coming to my rescue.

Starting the next morning, in addition to bringing amazing home-cooked meals, as well as some great take-out, my friends took turns visiting me so I didn’t get lonely. Those weeks ended up flying by. Before I knew it I was up and about again.

Eventually, my friends let me in on what a good laugh they had the night of the party – once they knew I was going to be all right, of course. As soon as my rib and collarbone healed I had a pretty good laugh about it, too. I didn’t mind that they had laughed. I decided that any group of friends willing to cook for me during summer break was allowed to laugh at me.
